Rara Lake Trek is one of the popular treks in Nepal. You are exploring the Karnali region of northwestern Nepal. In Addition, Rara Lake trek offers short and long trekking routes.

The first route starts from Rara Lake army camp, the trek is around a 40-minute walk. Then, the second route is the long route “Jumla to Rara Lake”. Around 3-4 days of the trek, you will pass through small villages.

Long Trekking Route | Jumla To Rara Lake

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu

Arrive in Kathmandu and Stay at a hotel.
Get some ideas about the trek, while talking to the locals.
Just chill at Kathmandu before heading to Rara Lake.

Day 2: Kathmandu to Nepalgunj

Transportation to Nepalgunj: Fly (1-hour flight), Bus, Reserve the Vehicle.
According to transportation, you have to plan your day at Nepalgunj. Following this, you can stay or move on to the next stop.

Day 3: Nepalgunj to Jumla

Transportation to Jumla: Fly, Bus, Reserve the Vehicle.
Get a rest in jumla, now you are the fresh nature explore and relax. Simultaneously, explore with locals to learn more about the Rara Lake trek.

Day 4: Jumla to Chere Chaur

Trekking Time: 5-6 hours
Altitude: 3,055 meters (10,023 feet)

Today you will take your First Step for your trekking. You will start your trekking early morning so start your trek with a small meal. During your trek make sure to drink water regularly.

You will pass Khalanga Bazar and its beautiful local market. You will get to explore jumla tiny villages and temples throughout your trek. Don’t miss out on the beautiful culture of the people so do talking to the locals while trekking.

Rest at Chere Chaur on your first day.

Day 5: Chere Chaur to Chalachaur

Trekking Time: 6-7 hours
Altitude: 2,980 meters (9,777 feet)

On the Second day of the Trek, you will explore western trails.
Passing through Jaljala Pass the mesmerizing rhododendron, birch, and pine tree shadow. Then after trekking for a few hours, you will touch the Rara circuit trail and to your second-day destination Chala Chaur.

Day 6: Chalachaur to Sinja Valley

Trekking Time: 6-7 hours
Altitude: 2,440 meters (8,005 feet)

On the Third day of the Trek, you will be trekking along Jaljal River. Thereafter, resting here for the Third day of the trek.

Day 7: Sinja Valley to Ghorosingha

Trekking Time: 6-7 hours
Altitude: 3,050 meters (10,007 feet)

On the fourth day of the trek, now you will explore Laha the uphill trek. Then after, resting here for the Third day of the trek.

Day 8: Ghorosingha to Rara Lake

Trekking Time: 4-5 hours
Altitude: 2,990 meters (9,810 feet)

After trekking for a couple of days. Finally, it’s time to celebrate your trek and get rest that day.

Day 9: Explore Rara Lake

Finally, you have can long way to explore Rara Lake. Explore the beautiful Rara Tala surrounded by trees. As I have said, you can explore around 7-8 hours around the Lake.
